THE EVO
The Mercedes-Benz 190, which appeared in 1982, quickly became a success for the Stuttgart-based company. So much so that numerous versions were quickly offered in the catalogue, including carburettor models, injection models, sports models with 2.3L and 16 valves, then 2.5L and 16 valves, six-cylinder models and diesel versions. However, in the collective imagination, the one that will carry the Mercedes-Benz star high in motorsport is the DTM version. In order to take part in the German touring car championship, Mercedes called on AMG to prepare a road-going version, 502 of which were produced for competition homologation. Thus was born the 190E 2.5-16 Evolution. Based on the high-performance 2.5-16, the Evolution has a Cosworth-prepared four-cylinder engine that develops 204 horsepower at 6,750 rpm and 240 Nm between 5,000 and 5,500 rpm. The whole thing could then reach 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds. The five-speed manual gearbox is a Getrag, recognizable by its downshift. The suspension is also revised, but the Evolution is most recognizable by its heightened aesthetics. The fenders are cut and widened, a rear spoiler is placed on the trunk and numerous appendages are placed on the body, betraying its sporty destiny.
THIS EVO
The model presented was delivered new by the Jacobs dealership in Belgium on April 25 and was destined for the Belgian market. The car is finished in Blauschwarz 199U (anthracite grey metallic) - as all EVO's are - and our paint measurements show a partial respray at some point. Gloss and reflection are even over the entire car. The black leather interior is in a very good state of preservation, without any noticeable traces of wear given its higher mileage.
The first owner enjoyed his car a lot and used it as intended, as can be seen on the service intervals. Now owned by the same owner for 11 years, it is used sparingly and runs regularly to preserve the health of the engine. This 190E Evolution 1 has been carefully maintained, as evidenced by the recent records of invoices issued in the Mercedes-Benz network and the original service booklet.
The car has an extract of the Mercedes archives which attests the conformity of the vehicle which is matching numbers.
This 190E Evolution 1 is equipped with a sunroof, leather seats, central locking, original Becker Mexico car radio and its user manual.
An opportunity not to be missed!
