Few cars can boast a history like that of the Porsche 911. This was the sports car that simply blew everything away in 1964. Since then, the 911 has evolved over the years into one of the world's true legends. Part of the appeal of this iconic model is no doubt that its soul has always remained true to its original design. Porsche began producing the 'Targa' 911 in the mid-1960s and kept it in production in various forms until the current Porsche 992 Targa.
During the production era of the 911 Carrera 3.2, all non-Turbo variants - Coupé, Targa and Cabriolet - were referred to as '911 Carrera'. The cars of this era are powered by the familiar air (and oil) cooled, 6-cylinder 3,164cc engine with an output of 231 hp and 284 Nm of torque, fitted with a 5-speed manual transmission. Ignition and injection are controlled by the Bosch Motronic system that delivers efficient and economical performance.
This 3.2-litre Carrera Targa is a German-delivered example; finished in Grand Prix White with a blue leather/fabric interior with pinstriping. We also see new Fuchs rims and Pirelli tyres. The whale-tail spoiler is a nice addition but can easily be changed.
As this is a 1985 model, it has the highest-performance engine with the lighter and shorter-geared 915 gearbox resulting in the fastest accelerating 3.2 carrera.
The file contains lots of invoices of recent works and expenses. The most recent service and works were carried out by us. It received new paint, new rubbers, new rims & tyres, new foot mats, a major service, the known sensors on the flywheel.... With invoices for more than 25,000€, all major issues were taken care of; good for many kilometres of reliable driving pleasure.
The history of this car starts in 1985 in Germany; shortly afterwards, it moved to France where it stayed until now. Over the entire period, the car also had only 4 owners! Having driven a total of 310,800 kilometres, the car is looking for a new owner. The car is fully matching and comes with its original spare wheel; compressor; old invoices; car cover & old French number plates.
911s from the late 1980s are the most fun to drive with a reliable Classic Porsche and this beautiful 911 Targa would be a great start. The combination of performance and looks makes a 911 3.2 the perfect classic!
Today, the car has a French registration.
